About The Position

The purpose of this job is to clean, de-burr, polish and grind items of metal using hand tools or powered equipment. This role involves holding parts against an abrasive belt or buff wheel to grind, polish, or buff the surface. The position also requires changing tools on power equipment and applying abrasive compound or other dressing to facilitate polishing operations. Environmental responsibility, including proper disposal of waste, is a key aspect of the role. The Polisher is expected to meet individual production goals and perform any other tasks required to fulfill Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Six months related experience.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be able to perform physical functions equivalent to Category A (High Labor Intensive Category).

Responsibilities

  • Hold parts against abrasive belt or buff wheel to grind, polish or buff surface.

  • Applies abrasive compound or other dressing to facilitate polishing operations.
  • Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
