About The Position
This role involves polishing granite and other materials to prepare them for finishing or to correct defects. The polisher will use hand and power tools, apply pressure for polishing, glazing, and buffing while maintaining precise dimensions. Quality control is essential, requiring inspection of finished workpieces against templates, measuring dimensions, and identifying defects for rework. The position also requires ensuring proper equipment use, assisting coworkers, maintaining a clean workspace, and adhering to all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Responsibilities
- Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools
- Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure the dimensions stay the same
- Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework
- Ensure proper use of equipment
- Teamwork; helping coworkers in other stations if needed
- Maintain a clean station
- Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.)
- Ensure safety procedures are followed
- Other duties as assigned
