Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $29.55/hour or $61,464.000/annually. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • Two years of experience and/"or training in customer service, or work in a related field.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding which will be determined by a validated test.
  • Obtain and maintain an Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) certification.
  • Requires successful completion of Interstate Identification Index (III) background investigation.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all ACJIS functions, including Level A responsibilities following all national and state protocols and instructions and validates records entered into the NCIC system.
  • Provides electronic records management support.
  • Reviews police documents for validity, accuracy and completeness.
  • Enters, corrects, changes, retrieves, loads, downloads and updates related information using an automated records management system.
  • Fulfills Public Records Requests for written, audio and video records on behalf of the SPD by following agency policy and Arizona’s Public Records Laws.
  • Compiles, amends and otherwise prepares electronic and physical documents from diverse formats and systems to create uniformed and legally sufficient items for release to courts, prosecutors, government agencies, media and members of the public.
  • Makes sure final disposition and public/governmental records requests are thoroughly investigated and prepared prior to submission to the prosecutor’s office within court defined deadlines.
  • Detects discrepancies under quality control function, consults with officers, detectives, and supervisors regarding missing forms and invalid data, information required to correctly process documents and approval to release reports.
  • Comprehends and makes appropriate inferences from written material including police records training manuals and procedures, departmental general and operations orders, and related federal and state statutes.
