UPMC is excited to announce opportunities for Sr. Police Officer II positions at UPMC Kane Hospital. The schedule will consist of afternoon and night shifts. The Act 235 Certification is required prior to hire. The Act 120 Municipal Police Officer training is not a substitute for the Act 235. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and all UPMC owned and adjacent properties. This includes enforcing UPMC rules and regulations, patrolling UPMC facilities to deter criminal activity, investigating criminal events, documenting activities, and taking appropriate police action. The officer will monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms, respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances, and provide customer service. The role serves as a first responder to any violent act occurring at a UPMC location and will be armed with a firearm. The officer may also oversee the operations of an assigned shift, formally lead daily operations, and organize and assign work to staff.
