The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a Police Officer to patrol campus grounds and buildings, ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and employees. This role involves assisting in emergency situations, enforcing Ohio Revised Code, monitoring traffic, investigating complaints, and screening new patients for contraband. The officer will also support clinical service functions by responding to emergencies, assisting staff with patients in crisis, and screening visitors and returning patients. Additionally, the position may involve transporting patients and assisting with mechanical issues for staff or visitors. This is an hourly position covered by the State of Ohio Unit 2 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of #8 or #10 on the Unit 2 Pay Range Schedule. The position is located at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare in Massillon, OH. Effective October 1, 2025, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has transitioned to its new name—the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.
