About The Position

Provides clinical and medical care for Freedom House clients in the crisis unit and outpatient locations, ensuring quality care. Is skillful and professional in providing direct service including screenings, diagnosis, patient placement, consulting, medical administration, and brief therapy. Signs patient treatment plans and other necessary forms in a timely manner that follows medical record procedures. Prescribes medications in a manner that meets program policy and State/MCO and Federal guidelines. Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to persons served. Assists administration in its efforts to achieve provider status on managed care panels by providing the information requested in a prompt, thorough, and accurate manner. Ensures appropriate documentation of all contacts. Provides treatment planning by preparing the initial diagnosis; and working closely with clinicians to describe strengths, preferences, and needs; identifying treatment goals and strategies for each client. Assists with staff medical education. As a presenter, is knowledgeable, effective, and professional. Provides crisis intervention and referrals in a manner that is prompt, effective, and professional. Participates in crisis on-call rotation on assigned evenings and weekends. Demonstrates flexibility in covering for other providers when needed. Effectively coordinates management of the medical component with the Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Medical staff, and administration. Provides psychiatric assessments via telepsych when needed. Attends in-services, staff meetings, and other staff functions as required by supervisor. Complies with the requirements of Freedom House employment including monthly documentation of hours worked. Maintains a schedule approved by supervisor, and is reliable in work attendance, and when requesting planned and unplanned leave.
