The primary objective of equipment maintenance is the repair and up-keep of production equipment, ensuring it is kept in a safe, effective operating condition so that production and quality targets can be met on time and at cost. This role involves assisting equipment technicians or service personnel with technical support, either by phone/email or directly at the job site. The position requires developing quick and accurate communication with field personnel and dispatch, assuring the quality of repairs to minimize recall/duplicate work, and ensuring compliance with all governmental and company safety policies and Human Resources policies. The mechanic will review shop tool requirements to improve efficiency, observe and report any deficiencies to enhance the PM program, and participate in technical training with dealers/manufacturers, passing on that training to other mechanics. Close collaboration with the Field Services Dispatcher and parts personnel is essential for on-time parts delivery. This position will work daily with Internal Departments, Field Managers and Superintendents, as well as Field Mechanics. This is an hourly position that requires overtime as needed. The mechanic must possess sufficient tools to perform the job, as the company does not provide industry-standard tools. The service truck must be kept clean and orderly. The role is responsible for staying within HOS (hours of service), if applicable, and complying with all Trimble/Telogis regulations. Other job-related duties as required or assigned will also be performed.
