About The Position

MSD is looking for a Plumbing Service Manager to join our team! We are seeking a dynamic Plumbing Service Manager to lead our plumbing service department with a focus on people, performance, and customer satisfaction. This role combines leadership and technical expertise, overseeing the hiring, training, and development of technicians while ensuring quality control, efficient scheduling, and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and MSD standards. The Plumbing Service Manager plays a key role in resolving customer concerns, driving profitability through accurate billing and reporting, and maintaining safe, well-equipped operations. In addition to managing day-to-day service delivery, this position partners with sales on contracts, quotes, and new business opportunities while representing the company at industry events and community functions. The Plumbing Service Manager leads the team to deliver high-quality work while ensuring safety, compliance, and budget goals. This role oversees staffing, training, and customer service to drive company growth, client satisfaction, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ recent experience in plumbing field
  • 7+ years combined Commercial Plumbing experience (i.e., Apprenticeship and Field)
  • 4+ years experience in a leadership role
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of Commercial Plumbing
  • Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
  • Able to comprehend and implement complex technical instructions including applicable laws, codes and regulations (federal, state, and local levels)
  • Valid unencumbered US Driver’s License
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required

Responsibilities

  • Lead plumbing service operations to ensure quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and profitability
  • Support sales growth by identifying opportunities, assisting with quotes, and collaborating on maintenance contracts and projects
  • Hire, train, and develop staff, including interviews, performance reviews, and ongoing skills development
  • Oversee scheduling and technician assignments to align skills with job requirements and contract expectations
  • Manage service contracts, ensuring clear scope, budgets, and delivery standards are met
  • Monitor department performance through budgets, financial reports, and technician profitability, and implement improvements as needed
  • Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and quality control standards, ensuring accurate and timely work order completion
  • Audit service work and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance and address gaps
  • Resolve customer issues through investigation, corrective action, and clear communication
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchasing practices, and inventory standards for trucks, tools, and materials
  • Ensure safety standards, equipment condition, and fleet readiness across all operations
  • Partner with dispatch and field teams to plan service schedules and upcoming work
  • Track open quotes, follow up with customers, and ensure satisfaction with completed work
  • Provide technical expertise on complex plumbing projects, including design input, troubleshooting, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan staffing needs, develop budgets, and drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain a strong safety culture with the goal of every employee returning home safely each day
