About The Position

We are seeking a people-first leader for our Plumbing Service Manager – Drain Department role. This position focuses on coaching, developing, and motivating teams, with an emphasis on leadership, communication, and performance management rather than hands-on technical work. While plumbing or drain experience is highly preferred, your ability to lead, manage KPIs, and deliver an outstanding customer experience is paramount. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Drain Service Department, managing a team of 15+ service technicians, fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism, and driving consistent execution of company policies and standards. This is an in-office position with a Monday-Friday schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and team-development skills
  • Experience managing performance metrics and KPIs
  • Proven customer service and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using operational software
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Fluent ability to speak, read, and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • Plumbing or drain service experience (highly preferred, not required)
  • Experience in home services (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, restoration)
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software
  • Background working in a larger, multi-division organization

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Drain Service Department, managing a team of 15+ service technicians
  • Lead and develop technicians through coaching, training, and performance management
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, customer service, and teamwork
  • Monitor and manage KPIs including productivity, revenue, conversion rates, customer satisfaction, and callbacks
  • Conduct regular team meetings, ride-alongs, and one-on-one performance reviews
  • Manage escalated customer concerns and complaints with professionalism and empathy
  • Coordinate closely with dispatch, customer service, sales, and other department managers to ensure efficient scheduling and service delivery
  • Ensure technicians follow company processes, safety standards, and customer service expectations
  • Analyze performance data and reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new drain service technicians
  • Drive consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Promote efficiency, morale, and retention within the department
  • Support company growth initiatives in a high-volume service environment
