About The Position

Works in conjunction with the engineering groups and across multiple company functional departments to research, develop and deploy technical advances in information technology with business processes. Champions innovative ideas and projects and develops technical scope to optimize company product configuration and data management processes and deliver solutions which support activities ranging from development to manufacturing to customer support activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education experience.
  • 15+ years of Engineering or IT experience or 15 years Engineering experience with broad experience in several technical disciplines required.
  • 5 years of experience with CAD and/or PDM tools required.
  • 5 years of Database experience, data migration/conversion or related experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Teamcenter experience preferred
  • SQL experience preferred
  • Previous experience with digital pre-assembly of product components (aerospace desirable).
  • Experience in process mapping and other process improvement techniques is desirable.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design, manufacturing and product data management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of design engineering and manufacturing engineering applications and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering and CAD/PLM activities.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving complex engineering CAD/PLM solutions problems and in developing methods, standards and guides for diverse engineering and CAD/PLM activities.
  • Analyzes user needs to determine engineering and product data requirements, CAD and PLM functional requirements and perform functional allocation to identify required tasks which may include the development of functional testing plans, information planning and analysis as well as process and data modeling to meet user needs.
  • Responsible for an important segment of the CAD/PLM program with extensive and diversified engineering requirements.
  • Independently conceives, plans, and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity.
  • Are a recognized leader and an authority in an area of CAD/PLM solutions.
  • Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of considerable importance for which engineering precedents are lacking, in areas critical to the overall engineering program.
  • Is consulted, extensively, by associates and others, as a recognized authority, within the field of CAD/PLM solutions.
  • Actively, works to improve daily processes and ensures all CAD/PLM solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Analyzes and evaluates results of project activities, used to establish, monitor and report business and system status metrics.
  • Responsible for the release of product definition data, change management and product configuration management activities, including quality control, change reporting and data security.
  • Drives decisions on technical tools and processes for configuration management.
  • Work closely with New Product Development and Quality Assurance to define and implement procedures for releasing products throughout the whole product life cycle.
  • Recommend innovations to improve the quality economy, and effectiveness of the company product.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulatory requirements for management and control of all type design data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
