About The Position

ONYX Specialty Processing is an emerging medium-scale plating facility specializing in anodizing, passivation, and chemical conversion coating, using modern automation for industries including aerospace and manufacturing. The company is seeking a motivated entry-level Plating Technician to assist with plating operations, prepare parts for processing, monitor chemical baths, and follow safety and quality standards. No prior plating experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status due to ITAR restrictions.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in metal finishing, chemistry, or manufacturing is required to qualify for the maximum pay range.

Responsibilities

Prepare parts for plating by cleaning, masking, and racking them according to specifications.
Operate and monitor anodizing, passivation, and chemical conversion coating processes.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and customer requirements.
Monitor chemical levels in process tanks and perform basic adjustments.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines, including proper chemical handling and PPE use.
Assist with equipment maintenance and housekeeping in the plating area.
Record process data and complete quality-control documentation.
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
