Platform Operations & Automation Analyst Consultant

GCM Grosvenor•Chicago, IL
•$77 - $90•Hybrid

About The Position

GCM Grosvenor is seeking a Platform Operations & Automation Analyst consultant for the Finance Product Area within its Technology Product & Strategy department. This is a business-facing support and automation role, not a traditional “keep the lights on” position. The analyst will own front-line support for finance applications and partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and AI agents to reduce manual support and maintenance work, improve data quality and integrity across finance and master entity data platforms, and expand business-user self-service through AI-powered knowledge skills, agents, and automated workflows. The analyst will treat recurring support requests as opportunities to identify root causes and prevent future issues, using code fixes, upstream data-quality controls, self-service AI skills, or automated workflows. Initial focus areas include master entity data cleanup and entity consolidation, integration and data-feed issues across fund administration, portfolio monitoring, accounting, and CRM platforms, and recurring questions from Finance, Treasury, and Investment Operations users. The role will build on existing Claude-based knowledge skills, AI agents that research issues and generate cleanup scripts, and monitoring agents that triage errors into Jira, and scale these tools across the product area. Future initiatives include upstream data-validation layers and a formal support-to-roadmap feedback loop. The position is based in Chicago and is onsite/hybrid, with office attendance expected on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The expected hourly range is $77–$90, varying based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working with colleagues at all levels in a fast-paced organization focused on excellence.

  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to automate work, including building prompts, skills, agents, or workflows that others rely on.
  • Experience in application or production support with a track record of eliminating recurring issues, not just resolving them.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including statistical analysis, and ability to investigate data across multiple systems and databases to find root causes.
  • Experience working in collaborative environments and with Agile methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to synthesize complex concepts for various audiences.
  • Adaptability, dependability, dedication to products and team, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for business-facing support across Finance Product Area applications, triaging, researching, and resolving issues and questions from Finance, Treasury, and Investment Operations users.
  • Identify patterns in recurring support requests, manual workarounds, and data cleanup; quantify their cost, document root causes, and use these insights to influence prioritization with Product Managers.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve AI skills and agents that answer recurring business questions, research issues, and generate remediation steps, with appropriate human review before data-changing actions.
  • Curate the knowledge base, including Confluence pages, runbooks, and system documentation, to power AI tools and enable self-service.
  • Coordinate cross-team data remediation, such as entity consolidation and downstream impact analysis, ensuring changes are validated by owning teams and communicated clearly.
  • Monitor data flows between integrated systems and partner with team members, handing off true production issues as clear, well-researched Jira stories.
  • Support UAT and regression testing for fixes and enhancements, using AI to accelerate test planning and execution.

Benefits

  • Eligible employees may elect comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Flexible spending accounts.
  • Employer-sponsored retirement plan.
  • Paid time off.
  • Parental leave.
