About The Position

Eftsure is an Australian-founded fintech working to help organisations protect themselves against payment fraud. The Platform Engineer will join the Engineering team to build, maintain and optimise the cloud infrastructure powering the platform. This hands-on role focuses on solving technical challenges and ensuring infrastructure is secure, scalable, reliable and able to support the company’s growth.

Working closely with Development teams across the US, Australia and France, the engineer will influence infrastructure decisions, drive automation initiatives, and improve the performance and resilience of Eftsure’s cloud environment. The role is 100% remote.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including deploying, managing and optimising cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with scripting, automation and DevOps practices.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including load balancing, firewalls and network security.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools; Grafana is preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, reliability and scalability.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
• Collaborative mindset and confidence working across teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with other cloud platforms, such as Azure or GCP.
• Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline; this is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and optimise the AWS cloud environment to ensure reliability, performance and scalability.
• Build automation tools and streamline infrastructure management and deployment processes.
• Implement security best practices, monitor vulnerabilities and ensure infrastructure meets relevant compliance standards.
• Design and maintain highly available systems, identify performance improvements and minimise downtime.
• Use monitoring tools, including Grafana, to identify, investigate and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Support and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Partner with Development teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Explore emerging technologies, optimise infrastructure costs and contribute to ongoing platform improvements.
