CTG is seeking a Platform Services Engineer to design, build, and operate shared infrastructure platforms supporting clinical and business applications. Platforms include hyperconverged virtualization, virtual desktop and end-user computing, identity and Microsoft 365, core Windows and Linux services, and backup and resilience. The engineer helps keep these platforms secure, available, and supportable in a 24x7 healthcare environment where downtime can affect patient care. This hands-on role contributes to large-scale infrastructure modernization and platform consolidation, including Microsoft 365 and identity transformations, virtualization migrations, VDI modernization, and standardization of builds, tooling, operational processes, and support models across multiple locations. The engineer collaborates with Infrastructure Services, Application Teams, Information Security, Networking, Service Desk, and vendors. Work follows structured project and change-management processes, including defined entry and exit criteria, planned maintenance windows, and documented rollback procedures. Success is measured by platform availability, minimally disruptive cutovers, reduced technical debt, and automation that improves efficiency and reliability. The position is hybrid, combining remote work with on-site days at healthcare campuses, administrative offices, or data centers. Regular on-site presence is required for activities such as hardware installations, infrastructure maintenance, migration cutovers, disaster recovery exercises, and downtime events. Travel between supported locations may be required. The role participates in a Technical Services 24x7 on-call rotation and provides after-hours support for critical incidents, outages, maintenance, and escalations as required.
