About The Position

The Better Money Company is building a stablecoin clearinghouse to make stablecoins move like money, not a trading asset. This role will involve building a test harness for faster development with confidence, creating internal tools, dev infrastructure, and automation to give a small team the leverage of a big one. The company believes stablecoins are better money and will be the backbone of better payments, aiming to fix structural problems hindering stablecoin adoption by building a clearinghouse. They are a small, scrappy team based in NYC, have raised $10M from a16z Crypto and other partners, and are dedicated to bringing better money to the world.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in platform engineering, developer tooling, infrastructure, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience building test infrastructure for systems where correctness is critical, such as payments, trading, or ledgers.
  • Strong opinions about effective internal tooling and the initiative to build it proactively.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and take ownership in situations lacking specificity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with formal verification, property-based testing, or chaos engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own the test harness for core systems, including integration tests, formal verification, and chaos testing across the ledger, netting algorithm, money movement, and payment ordering.
  • Build correctness guarantees to enable faster shipping by the team.
  • Design and build internal tools to amplify productivity.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, dev environments, and deployment infrastructure to ensure a fast, safe, and boring path from code to production.
  • Instrument systems with observability such as logging, tracing, and alerting to catch problems before customers do.
  • Handle miscellaneous tasks, referred to as 'the dishes'.
