Platform Engineer/Architect, Journeyman
About The Position
FEDITC, LLC is seeking a Journeyman Platform Engineer/Architect to provide platform engineering support for the DFAS NIPRNet and unclassified enclave in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position requires an active Secret security clearance and United States citizenship. The employee must maintain applicable security clearances at the level required by the client and/or applicable certifications as requested by FEDITC or required by its clients, customers, or prime contractors. Candidates must also pass a background check. The role supports DFASNow operations, infrastructure monitoring, network configuration documentation, technology implementation and testing, change control, and continuity-of-operations and disaster recovery exercises. The engineer resolves Tier 3 support tickets, documents solutions and work in the ticketing system, and coordinates with senior engineers on complex issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of systems engineering experience.
- Windows Server administration experience; Microsoft Azure AZ-801 and AZ-802 certifications are listed.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD-approved IAT Level II certification.
- Experience with NIPRNet.
- Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix.
- Knowledge of MECM, SCOM, and Microsoft management tools.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and DFASNow.
- Understanding of DoD security requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- United States citizenship and ability to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- CISSP certification or upgrade path.
- Prior NIPRNet administration experience.
- Azure administrator certification.
- Experience with DFAS systems.
- Knowledge of DISA STIGs and hardening.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell or Bash.
Responsibilities
- Provide platform engineering support for DFAS NIPRNet and unclassified enclave support.
- Process and resolve Tier 3 DFASNow support tickets.
- Update DFASNow with essential and material information.
- Support implementation and testing of new technologies.
- Assist with engineering network configuration documentation.
- Support CCE infrastructure monitoring activities.
- Participate in change control processes.
- Document solutions and effort expended in the ticketing system.
- Coordinate with senior engineers on complex issues.
- Support COOP exercises and disaster recovery testing.
