About The Position

The Plater 1 processes material through the complete cleaning, activation, and plating process. The role follows job specifications and process instructions in the Traveler, records process parameters, completes required scanning, and monitors work for quality issues or unusual conditions. The Plater 1 maintains a safe and environmentally appropriate workplace, uses required protective gear, supports production schedules and shift handoffs, and contributes to continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and environmentally appropriate workplace and use good safety practices in plating and related processes and equipment management.
Wear OSHA-regulated protective gear while plating.
Execute and monitor production according to the specifications in the Traveler and follow the production schedule to meet customer delivery requirements.
Process material through the cleaning, activation, and plating processes.
Ensure documentation is complete and ready before running a job.
Use the Traveler to document process parameters used during job processing.
Monitor for potential quality issues and report unusual process or material conditions to a supervisor.
Scan process steps as required.
Complete shift-transfer activities, such as cleaning tanks and the work area, topping off plating tanks, and communicating relevant information.
Participate in daily Metrix meetings.
Work in other processes or methods as needed.
Support Kaizen events when required, provide feedback for improvements, and support maintenance of the 5S culture.
