About The Position

The Plate Roll Operator rolls aluminum sheets to a defined radius using a plate roll machine. The operator reviews prints to determine the number of sheets and required radius, sets the machine for the material thickness and radius, and loads sheets using a vacuum lifter and roller table. After rolling, the operator checks the piece for roundness, radius, and end alignment; tack welds the ends of fully rolled cylindrical pieces; and removes finished pieces by hand or with an overhead crane. The operator identifies and stages completed pieces, tracks daily production for the Team Lead, and keeps the work area clear of scrap and debris. The role involves using machine controls and equipment including a plate roll machine, MIG welding machine, stencil, tape measure, ratcheting strap, hammer, overhead crane, and radius-check templates.
