Plate Machine Operator

nVent•Richland, MS

About The Position

The Plate Machine Operator rolls sheets of aluminum to a defined radius using a plate roll machine. The operator consults prints to determine the number of sheets and required radius, adjusts machine settings for the material thickness, and loads aluminum using a vacuum lifter and roller table. After rolling, the operator checks roundness, radius, and end alignment; may tack-weld fully rolled pieces to hold their shape; and removes pieces by hand or overhead crane. The operator identifies and stages completed pieces, records daily production, and maintains a clean work area. The role involves standing and walking for most of each shift in a non-air-conditioned production environment and may require lifting items up to 40 pounds. nVent describes itself as a global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
