About The Position

The Plasma Sprayer performs duties to plan, set up, and spray parts to meet production requirements. The role prepares parts by masking and/or grit blasting, then determines the appropriate spray flow and speed to achieve the required results and comply with specifications. The position interprets work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to identify operations and their required sequence. It also works with Engineering to develop plasma spray programs, methods, parameters, and material selections for new or modified products, and assists with tooling ideas. The Plasma Sprayer ensures proper fixtures and tools are used, maintains adequate material inventory, and requisitions materials and tooling as needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of plasma spraying experience.
• Knowledge, practical use, and programming ability with a robotic plasma gun, specifically the Sulzer Metco Multi Coat Sprayer System and ABB 2400 Series Robot.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
