About The Position

The Plasma Sprayer plans, sets up, and sprays parts to meet production requirements. The role prepares parts for coating by masking and/or grit blasting, then uses judgment to determine appropriate spray flow and speed to achieve the best results and meet specifications. The Plasma Sprayer interprets work orders, engine manuals, blueprints, and technical documents to identify operations and their required sequence. The role also works with Engineering on plasma spray programs, methods, parameters, and material selection for new or modified products, and assists with tooling ideas. It ensures appropriate fixtures and tools are used and that material inventories support production goals.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of plasma spraying experience; aerospace experience is preferred.
• Knowledge, practical experience, and programming ability with a robotic plasma gun, specifically the Sulzer Metco Multi Coat Sprayer System and ABB 2400 Series Robot.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and good communication skills are desired.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to determine operations and their sequence.
• Work with Engineering to develop plasma spray programs, methods, parameters, and material selections for new or modified products.
• Assist with developing new tooling ideas.
• Ensure proper fixtures and tools are used.
• Maintain adequate material inventory to meet production goals and requisition materials and tooling as required.
