About The Position

At BioLife, the Plasma Center Technician works as a plasma donor screener and performs phlebotomy to support plasma center operations. The role focuses on donor customer service, safety, and quality, while collecting plasma used to make medicines. The position reports to the Plasma Center Manager. This is a part-time position. Most shifts are 4 to 6 hours per day, 3 or more days per week. Shift availability and days and times are confirmed early in the interview process, and schedule changes are communicated in advance. The position may involve a variety of shifts, including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Paid interactive training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in a customer- or patient-facing role is helpful.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift materials up to 32 pounds, and rarely lift up to 50 pounds.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods; 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and assist donors while ensuring the safety of donors and the team.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
