About The Position

The Plasma Center Technician supports plasma center operations as a donor screener and phlebotomist. The role involves interacting with donors, collecting and recording screening information, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safe, high-quality plasma collection. The position reports to the Plasma Center Manager and includes paid, interactive training. This is a part-time role. Most shifts are 4 to 6 hours per day, at least 3 days per week. Shift availability and days and times are discussed early in the interview process, and schedule changes are communicated in advance. The position requires reliability during scheduled hours and may involve a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods, as 90% of work tasks involve prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and focus on donors while ensuring donor and team safety.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
