About The Position

BioLife is hiring a part-time Plasma Center Technician. Most shifts last 4 to 6 hours per day, at least 3 days per week. Shift days and times will be discussed early in the interview process, and schedule changes will be communicated in advance. The role includes paid interactive training and is based in Victorville, California. Reporting to the Plasma Center Manager, the technician screens plasma donors and performs phlebotomy to support center operations. The position emphasizes donor safety, customer service, and quality while collecting plasma used to make medicines. The role requires an active California license or certification as a CPT1, CPT2, CLS, or MLT.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current, active California certification or license as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1), Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 (CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.
Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Ability to wear gloves for prolonged periods, as 90% of work tasks involve potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and focus on donors while ensuring the safety of donors and team members.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company-approved procedures.
Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
