About The Position

The Plant Utility position performs day-to-day duties to complete work safely and on time while maintaining a clean work site. The role follows the safety program and contributes as a member of the team. Work is performed in a plant environment, with most work outdoors and exposure to inclement weather. The job description describes the general nature and level of work and may change as employer needs change. Essential functions will be evaluated as necessary if an employee or applicant is unable to perform them because of a disability, with reasonable accommodation made when possible.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to read, speak, and write English.
• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
• Regularly able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more.
• Frequently able to walk on unleveled ground.
• Able to use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and move materials and manipulate objects.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats, when needed.
• Regularly able to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility.
• Must work independently and as a member of a team.
• Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment and understand or have familiarity with power and small tools.
• Demonstrate integrity, honesty, a strong work ethic, dependability, reliability, and fulfillment of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Perform shoveling and sweeping, and monitor the work site.
• Operate and service small equipment.
• Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, and fuel equipment, and maintain general site housekeeping.
• Ensure safety fences, markings, and berms are in place.
• Notify the supervisor and/or maintenance of work that needs to be done.
• Perform other related duties as required.
