About The Position

Serves as a member of the front-line production team, performing various tasks that support production at a high-capacity commercial laundry plant and help meet customer needs. Work may involve operating dryers or washers, stain washing, sewing or mending, sorting soiled laundry, folding, commercial ironing, packing, and distributing.

For the Exchange Cart assignment, the worker maintains linen flow into tunnels, washers, and dryers; pulls bags or performs other laundry activities in the designated order; and loads linen into empty tunnel pockets as they transfer. The worker ensures pockets are loaded correctly and at the proper size, follows directions and safety precautions, meets hourly production standards, and notifies a supervisor when recurring technical problems affect production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the flow of linen into tunnels, washers, dryers, and other equipment.
• Pull bags and process other laundry activities in the designated order.
• Load linen into empty tunnel pockets as pockets transfer.
• Keep pockets correctly loaded with the proper load size and prevent overloading.
• Follow directions and safety precautions.
• Maintain production standards as determined per hour.
• Notify a supervisor if frequent technical problems affect the ability to meet production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
