About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator for its Ringgold, Georgia acetylene production and filling plant. The role supports safe, efficient operation of the production facility and the filling of cylinders, helping maintain excellent quality standards. The Plant Operator cares for production equipment, supports cylinder handling and tracking, and contributes to an orderly, safe, and collaborative workplace. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the second shift, with flexibility for occasional extra hours when needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and following established protocols.
• Flexibility to work shifts and occasional extra hours when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse experience.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Experience loading and unloading, sorting, and heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Care for and steward production equipment, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
• Conduct routine inspections and contribute to maintenance, promptly identifying equipment needs.
• Safely transport and handle cylinders, including filling and performing quality checks.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and safety initiatives.
