About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator at its industrial gas filling plant in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The operator helps ensure the safe, efficient operation of the production facility, including filling cylinders and maintaining quality standards. The role involves caring for production equipment, supporting the movement and tracking of cylinders, and contributing to a safe, collaborative workplace.

The schedule is Monday through Friday on the second shift. The position may require shift flexibility and occasional extra hours when needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Commitment to following safety protocols.
• Ability to work shifts and occasional extra hours when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Technical certification in industrial operations.
• Industrial gas experience.
• Experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for production equipment, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
• Perform routine inspections and contribute to equipment maintenance, promptly communicating identified needs.
• Safely transport and handle cylinders, including filling them and conducting quality checks.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and safety initiatives.
