About The Position

Daniels Health is hiring a dependable, hands-on Plant Operator for its medical waste treatment facility in Gastonia, North Carolina. The role supports healthcare facilities by safely processing medical waste and sharps. Operators handle incoming containers, use specialized treatment and sanitization equipment, maintain accurate records, and follow safety, quality, and compliance procedures while working with a team in an active industrial environment.

Requirements

Enjoy physical, hands-on work and be comfortable in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and transport materials throughout an entire shift.
Ability to regularly and safely lift up to 55 pounds and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
Comfort standing and remaining active for an 8+ hour shift.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Reliable attendance and a proven track record of dependability.

Nice To Haves

Experience in physically demanding work such as warehouse, manufacturing, construction, landscaping, shipping and receiving, sanitation, or similar environments.

Responsibilities

Receive, weigh, and process incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers.
Operate the autoclave system for medical waste treatment.
Load and operate the Washsmart container sanitization system.
Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely, following training as needed.
Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate processing records.
Follow safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
Collaborate with the team to keep operations running smoothly.
Lift containers weighing up to 55 pounds and push loaded carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
Stand, walk, bend, reach, and move materials throughout most of the shift.
