About The Position

The Memphis Case Ready Facility Manager directs, leads, and coaches the operational personnel in planning, organizing, and running optimum day-to-day operations of the facility to exceed customer expectations. This role is responsible for increasing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. The manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and followed. They will develop processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or 8 years of operational management experience in a plant environment.
  • Training in Safety, SQF, GMP, and HACCP
  • Previous experience and strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office products to analyze data and trends
  • Previous experience in best practice implementing and using continuous improvement and lean tools to drive improvement
  • Previous experience and broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to lead decision-making processes in a team environment
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management to develop goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership through effective goal setting, communication, and coaching.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Lead personnel to improve performance and productivity.
  • Ensure that policies are followed and updated with evolving production and quality standards.
  • Motivate, coach, and challenge personnel with a positive approach.
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
  • Develop processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  • Assume responsibility for setting and controlling budgets, targets, and objectives (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement budget plan and production plans.
  • Provide progress reports to Senior Management highlighting any variances.
  • Ensure that key roles are staffed with personnel who can effectively undertake the roles and responsibilities of the position as it relates to the business.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and implement employee corrective actions.
  • Review costs, production, and forecast data to determine plant progress toward meeting stated goals and objectives.
  • Oversee purchasing and product development functions.
  • Manage overall operating expenses, capital projects and expenditures, and budgets (Annual and Quarterly).
  • Ensure that production functions are completed in accordance with company’s established quality, production, and safety standards.
  • Responsible for Safety, Security, Health and regulatory programs on site.
  • Ensure production quality performance metrics (0 defects) are achieved.
  • Ensure production efficiency performance metrics (throughput and cost) are achieved.
  • Ensure production safety performance metrics are achieved keeping TIR within desired constraints.
  • Coordinate activities with site Quality Manager, ensuring that all food products are manufactured within the guidelines of industry and regulatory standards for quality and food safety.
  • Provide a customer-centric approach throughout the Company.
  • Ensure a singular focus in meeting the needs of customers.
  • Build and maintain work teams to achieve customer objectives.
  • Build and maintain contacts necessary for future business development.
  • Proactively promote the company.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.
  • Provide assistance and support to all departments as required.
  • Keep senior management informed of any significant problems.
  • Ensure effective relationships both internally and externally are built and maintained to meet company objectives.
  • Ensure that manufacturing equipment is maintained, supported, and available.
  • Ensure company’s assets are maintained to maximize equipment useful life and efficiency.
  • Engage with equipment suppliers to ensure expertise contributes to the effective operation of production equipment and resolution of problems.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Stay informed of developments and changes in production techniques and methods.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.
