About The Position

This is a replacement position based out of our Kitchener manufacturing facility, supporting HR operations for our Kitchener plant. The Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations and serves as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth HR processes across onboarding, employee relations, recruitment, payroll support, benefits administration, compliance, and HR reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion. This is an on-site position.

Requirements

  • Secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 2- 4 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaborate effectively.
  • Demonstrated results-focused approach with a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Strong decision-making, proactive problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel to the Vancouver, BC manufacturing facility location as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems such as Dayforce is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day HR operations: onboarding, offboarding, documentation, HRIS updates, and maintaining data integrity.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on HR processes, employee relations, and ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining all employee files and confidential information.
  • Monitor and track attendance policies.
  • Support full-cycle recruiting for select roles: post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews, coordinate offers, and manage the candidate experience.
  • Update and maintain Dayforce (HRIS) with all employee changes.
  • Ensure accurate employee data and reporting.
  • Produce HR metrics and dashboards to inform leadership (e.g., turnover, hiring pipeline, headcount, absence trends).
  • Coordinate benefits administration with Corporate HR to ensure timely employee enrollment.
  • Support payroll processing, timecard auditing, and leaves of absence tracking.
  • Support learning and development initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement events, recognition programs, and maintaining communication boards.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support departmental and organizational goals.
