The main function of the planner is to improve the efficiency and productivity of maintenance personnel and third-party services during major shutdowns through good planning, monitoring, and optimization of all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks performed during major shutdowns. Achieve established objectives for work completion, schedules, and costs, in collaboration with all involved departments, following the maintenance guidelines defined by the company.

Requirements

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Industrial Mechanics.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in heavy industry.
  • Technical skills: SAP, Microsoft and Google Suites.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques (e.g., Pareto analysis, RCFA, etc.).
  • Good communicator (oral and written) with strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment.
  • Extensive experience in heavy equipment repair; experience in inspection and welding is an asset.
  • Extensive experience in planning maintenance during major shutdowns using software.
  • Travel requirements: 10%

Responsibilities

  • Determine, plan, and collaborate with the Environment team for compliance with laws and policies.
  • Plan maintenance activities for major/annual shutdowns using STO modules in SAP.
  • Monitor the planning of the preparation and implementation of the shutdown (personnel, third-party services, materials, parts, tools, critical path).
  • Daily monitoring of progress and costs of major shutdowns during daily meetings.
  • Contribute to equipment reliability by reviewing daily maintenance requests.
  • Generate purchase requests for materials, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring just-in-time delivery.
  • Ensure that the parts catalog (in SAP and equipment files) reflects all changes.
  • Track statistics related to maintenance activities (IRC).
  • Plan cost-effective maintenance activities and control the costs of work orders.
