About The Position

Hampton Lumber is hiring an entry-level Planer Swing for its Willamina mill. The full-time position primarily keeps the facility clean to eliminate safety and fire hazards. The employee will receive cross-training to operate some advanced equipment in the facility to cover breaks. Production bonuses may be available each month based on the plant site’s target goals. A total hiring incentive of $1,500 is offered: $750 after six months of employment and $750 after 12 months, subject to applicable tax rates. Candidates offered a position must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a background check.

Requirements

• Good communication skills through writing, speech, and hearing.
• Must be willing to learn new skills.
• Able to lift 20–30 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Be a team player and self-starter.
• Be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Sawmill experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up slabs, sticks, sawdust, and chips from lower mill floors.
• Assist with dust mitigation.
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Apply good housekeeping standards to the work area and any other observed area.
