About The Position

Hampton Lumber is hiring for a full-time, entry-level Planer Swing position at its Willamina plant. The primary function is to keep the facility clean to eliminate safety and fire hazards. The position includes cross-training to operate some advanced facility equipment to cover breaks. Employees may be eligible for monthly production bonuses based on plant-site target goals. A $1,500 hiring incentive is paid in two installments: $750 after six months of employment and $750 after 12 months, subject to applicable tax rates. Candidates offered a position must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a background check.

Requirements

• Good communication skills through writing, speech, and hearing.
• Must be willing to learn new skills.
• Able to lift 20–30 pounds continuously.
• Be a team player and self-starter.
• Be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Sawmill experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up slabs, sticks, sawdust, and chips from lower mill floors.
• Assist with dust mitigation.
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Apply good housekeeping standards to the assigned work area and other areas where needed.
