About The Position

The Pit Technician inspects and lubricates vehicles quickly and thoroughly while providing professional and efficient customer service. The role follows and promotes the Company’s mission and core values and contributes to the success of the functional team. The technician performs multi-point inspections, services lubrication points, checks specified fluid levels, and identifies additional repairs needed. The role also requires maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area and adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness to work Saturdays.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements: prolonged standing, stooping, and bending; exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, 10–25 pounds frequently, and more than 10 pounds constantly; and working at a production-rate pace involving constant pushing or pulling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Complete work accurately and quickly, allowing customers to remain in their vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections.
• Advise the service consultant or technician of any additional work needed.
• Service grease fittings, universal joints, and steering knuckles using a hand- or compressed-air-powered grease gun.
• Inspect fluid levels in rear differentials and rear axle housings.
• Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s vision, mission, and core values in interactions with customers, co-workers, managers, and suppliers.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
