About The Position

The Pipefitter 1 lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts. The role performs pipe fabrication and installation, including screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, and carbon and stainless steel weld pipe. The pipefitter also installs valves, underground pipe, hangers, and supports; performs steam and heat tracing work; tests piping and tubing systems; and carries out basic plumbing repair, minor valve maintenance, cutting, rigging, and tool operation. Requirements

Minimum 4 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and specifications.
Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, and stainless steel weld pipe.
Miter and fabricate pipe.
Install valves, underground pipe, pipe hangers, and supports.
Perform steam and heat tracing work.
Use a beveling machine.
Perform basic plumbing repair and minor valve maintenance and repair.
Test piping systems and leak-test tubing systems.
Perform oxygen and acetylene cutting and basic rigging.
Operate pneumatic and electric tools.
Perform additional responsibilities as required.
