About The Position

The Pipefitter 1 lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, isometric drawings, field installations, material takeoffs, and field sketches, and understanding specifications. Pipefitters fabricate and install a variety of piping and tubing, install valves and supports, perform testing and basic maintenance, and use cutting, beveling, rigging, pneumatic, and electric tools. Additional responsibilities not listed may be required.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in the industrial construction or maintenance industry.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, field installations, material takeoffs, and field sketches, and understand specifications.
• Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, and stainless steel weld pipe.
• Miter and fabricate pipe.
• Install valves, underground pipe, pipe hangers, and supports.
• Perform steam and heat tracing.
• Use a beveling machine.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs.
• Perform minor valve maintenance and repairs.
• Test piping systems.
• Perform oxygen and acetylene cutting.
• Perform basic rigging.
• Operate pneumatic and electric tools.
• Leak-test tubing systems.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
