About The Position

Industrial Pipefitters assemble, lay out, install, maintain, and repair piping systems used to transport steam, fluids, and gases in industrial facilities. The work includes installing pipe, valves, flanges, supports, hangers, and related components. The position may involve working inside structures, tanks, vessels, and excavations, and at elevated heights.

Candidates must pass a written Pipefitter test, a drug test, and a background check, and meet all site-specific requirements. Industrial construction or maintenance experience is required. Four years of Industrial Pipefitter experience and NCCER Pipefitter certification are preferred.

Requirements

• Industrial construction or maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Must pass a written Pipefitter test.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.
• Must meet all site-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine piping layouts and installation requirements.
• Identify the tools, materials, and equipment needed for assigned tasks.
• Fabricate, fit, install, and assemble piping systems according to specifications.
• Install valves, flanges, supports, hangers, and related piping components.
• Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare piping materials for installation.
• Perform quality checks and pressure testing of piping systems.
• Identify potential safety hazards and follow site safety requirements.
• Use rigging equipment, including slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and cables, to move materials safely.
• Coordinate with supervisors, coworkers, helpers, and other crafts to complete assigned work efficiently.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe work area.
