About The Position

The Pipefitter Craftsman lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role involves reading isometric drawings, measuring, fabricating, and installing piping, as well as assembling and securing pipe components and related equipment. The position is classified as intermediate experience level.

Requirements

Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, a fit-for-duty medical assessment, and a background check.
Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places and on uneven surfaces.
Ability to complete tasks in noisy and dusty environments.
May be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site.
Ability to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; access may be required at heights exceeding 200 feet.

Responsibilities

Read isometric drawings, take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently.
Align, bolt, and clamp components of fabricated metal products in position for welding.
Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints.
Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation, and install items according to applicable plans and specifications.
Distinguish between varying thicknesses and types of metal materials.
Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment.
Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
Lay out and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
Hydro-test piping systems.
Observe and comply with safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
