Requirements

Graduated from a pipe welder program at a vo-tech school or other training school.
Program must have training in TIG root and stick fill and cap on steel piping in the 6GR position.

Responsibilities

Performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding.
Working at different heights, confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
Potentially working day or night shifts depending on the number of ships under construction.
Practicing safe work procedures that meet or exceed industry standards.
Utilizing various welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or "stick welding" and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) or "wire welding."
