About The Position

The Pipe Fitter (Fabrication) works at the fabrication yard in Houma, Louisiana, laying out, positioning, aligning, and securing parts for welding and bolt-up. The role involves measuring, marking, cutting, boring, fitting, and installing piping and structural components to blueprints and job specifications, and following fitting procedures used to fabricate offshore jackets, decks, heliports, and production facilities. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate safety awareness, work ethic, technical skill, customer focus, open communication, and commitment to implementing PES’s vision and values. Candidates must pass a written Fitter and ISO assessment and a hands-on fitter test.

Requirements

Five or more years of prior fabrication experience.
Ability to interpret ISO’s and P&ID’s.
Ability to fabricate and install pipe supports.
Ability to verify spool dimensions.
Ability to perform system walk-downs to validate proper installation.
Ability to hydro-test and reinstate.
Ability to cut with a torch.
Experience using safe work habits.
Pass a written Fitter and ISO assessment.
Pass a hands-on fitter test.

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, align, and secure parts for welding and bolt-up.
Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit, and install piping and structural components in accordance with blueprints and job specifications.
Use hand and power tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, and pipe benders.
Follow fitting procedures and principles used in fabricating offshore jackets, decks, heliports, and production facilities.
Participate in JSA’s and other Safety, Health, and Environmental processes.
Conduct behavioral-based safety observations.
