About The Position

The Pipe Fitter will plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, and modify piping systems and pipe assemblies requiring close-tolerance fit and structural soundness on ships, boats, barges, and other floating marine equipment.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of Pipe Fitter experience.
• Strong understanding of marine or industrial electronics.
• Ability to safely operate machinery.
• Valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Marine industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Boat building and fabrication of other structures.
• Tacking various fabrications together to prepare for welding.
• Cutting with plasma and acetylene torches.
• Layout, print reading, cutting, grinding, and buffing aluminum extrusions and plate.
• Clean up work area, general shop cleanup
• Fabricate and assist Welders in repairs to boats and yard equipment.
• Fabricate and tack handrail brackets and similar structures.
• Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.
