About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting. They are looking for a Pipefitter to join their Texas Division in the Alamogordo, New Mexico area. This role involves reviewing blueprints, laying out piping and equipment, monitoring safety and labor, understanding equipment installation, and knowledge of rigging, piping materials, and various lifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least Five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects required.
• Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications
• Lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping, and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps.
• Monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors.
• Monitor project labor.
• Understand the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring.
• Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling.
• Knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections, PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP.
• Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operations.
• Perform any and all other duties assigned.
