About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector to join its Technical Inspection Services team in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The role conducts inspection activities at pipe mills, coating mills, and loading, unloading, or stockpile locations, following client, Intertek, and industry procedures, specifications, and other requirements to achieve the required quality levels for a project or assignment. The commodity is API Line Pipe (API 5L). The anticipated project duration is five weeks, starting in early December 2026.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or higher education.
• Fluent in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with email and internet communication systems.
• Ability to work well with others and be detail-oriented.
• The role requires the mental and physical ability to carry out its duties.

Nice To Haves

• At least five years of experience with pipe-related quality assurance systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with and ability to interpret national codes and standards.
• Ability to understand specifications, drawings, and data sheets related to multidisciplinary construction and/or pipe projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection activities using tools needed to accurately measure and determine compliance with specifications.
• Provide daily inspection results to the Lead Inspector or Project Coordinator.
• Prepare and issue inspection reports when required.
• Witness testing and monitor project activities as required.
• Witness and verify pipe loadout onto trucks, railcars, barges, or ocean vessels in accordance with specifications and industry standards.
