About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Pipe/Coating Bench Inspector for its Technical Inspection Services team in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The role involves conducting inspection activities at pipe mills, coating mills, and/or loading, unloading, and stockpile locations. Inspections must follow client, Intertek, and industry procedures, specifications, and other requirements to achieve the required quality levels for each project or assignment. The anticipated project duration is five weeks, starting in early December 2026. The commodity is API Line Pipe (API 5L).

Requirements

• Preferably at least five years of experience with pipe-related quality assurance systems.
• Ability to interpret and understand national codes and standards, as well as specifications, drawings, and data sheets related to multidisciplinary construction and/or pipe projects.
• High school diploma/GED or higher education.
• Fluency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with email and internet communication systems.
• Ability to work well with others and be detail-oriented.
• Ability to meet the mental and physical requirements necessary to perform the duties.

Nice To Haves

• At least five years of experience with pipe-related quality assurance systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection activities using appropriate tools to accurately measure and determine compliance with specifications.
• Provide daily inspection results to the Lead Inspector or Project Coordinator.
• Prepare and issue inspection reports when required.
• Witness testing and monitor project activities as required.
• Witness and verify pipe loadout onto trucks, railcars, barges, or ocean vessels in accordance with specifications and industry standards.
