About The Position

The Pilot Club Student Assistant provides game-day support for University of Portland Athletics hospitality and event operations. The role focuses primarily on donor engagement, check-in logistics, and venue coverage during varsity home games, with a strong emphasis on soccer match days.

Requirements

• One year of relevant experience in customer service, fundraising, sales, marketing, event execution, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mandatory availability for evening home matches for both Men’s and Women’s Soccer on weekdays and weekends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor, appearance, and tone.
• Demonstrated competence working with diverse groups and ability to partner effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and other university constituencies.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent judgment, punctuality, and ability to work proactively in fast-paced game environments.
• Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, and ability to learn new applications quickly, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, receive supervisory direction constructively, apply University policies, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in NCAA Division I athletics or collegiate event operations.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Adobe software.

Responsibilities

• Support University of Portland Athletics hospitality and event operations on game days.
• Assist with donor engagement, check-in logistics, and venue coverage during varsity home games, particularly soccer matches.
• Be available for evening home matches for both Men’s and Women’s Soccer on weekdays and weekends.
• Represent UP Athletics professionally to donors, fans, and alumni.
