About The Position

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. (AHI) is seeking an experienced rotorcraft pilot to join its Flight Operations team. The role delivers ground school instruction (75%) and advanced flight training (20%) to customer personnel, and supports production test flights, ferry missions, customer deliveries, and demonstrations. Administrative duties account for 5% of the role. The position is based onsite in Grand Prairie, Texas, except when traveling, and requires 30% domestic and international travel. The Pilot conducts transition and recurrent training in Airbus helicopters, including instruction and evaluation of normal, abnormal, and emergency maneuvers. The role also maintains and updates training courseware, prepares flight documentation and reports, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates flight results with relevant teams. The Pilot may participate in global workshops to establish training standards and represent AHI and North American customer training needs. Candidates must be U.S. persons or authorized to work in the United States. The role requires the ability to conduct flight training at night, work with translators in the classroom and cockpit, and meet the stated physical and personal protective equipment requirements. Airbus describes this as a professional-level, US direct-hire, onsite position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least five years of flight experience.
At least 2,000 Pilot-In-Command hours in helicopters, including at least 500 hours in turbine-powered helicopters.
At least 100 hours of flight experience in the last 12 calendar months.
FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate.
Commercial helicopter license, IFR rating, and Certified Flight Instructor rating—helicopter (CFI).
Ability to operate company aircraft and maintain required FAA certificate and medical requirements.
Ability to compose written documentation and read and interpret technical drawings, data, and specifications.
Ability to conduct flight training at night.
Willingness to work with translators in the classroom and cockpit.
Must be a U.S. person or authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to travel independently and at short notice.
Ability to meet the position's physical requirements, including carrying up to 30 lbs./14 kgs. and using required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Participate in ground and flight instruction and training for customer personnel.
Receive and update flight manuals; review service bulletins and letters to maintain related training courseware and curriculum.
Set up classrooms and prepare training resource materials.
Conduct flight training as an instructor pilot for transition and recurrent students in Airbus helicopters.
Train and evaluate maneuvers involving normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.
Become familiar with new or modified aircraft systems, instrumentation, and equipment.
Prepare monthly flight logs and reports.
Ensure compliance with FAA and other regulations in Flight Operations assignments.
Prepare required pre-flight and post-flight documentation and reports, including details of significant occurrences.
Coordinate flight results with Quality Assurance, Flight Line, and Flight Operations personnel.
Conduct aircraft demonstration flights for potential customers in support of the Marketing Department.
Support other Flight Operations missions, including customer deliveries, demonstrations, and ferry flights, as operational needs dictate.
Assist customers with flight-related maintenance and performance questions and provide related information.
Prepare daily risk assessments and flight plans.
Participate in global company workshops to set pilot training standards and represent AHI and North American customer training needs.
