About The Position

Operate various types of piledriving cranes safely and efficiently for heavy civil construction projects in Shreveport, LA. This role is responsible for the precise handling and placement of piling materials, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating piledriving cranes in a heavy civil construction environment.
  • Valid NCCCO certification for relevant crane types (e.g., lattice boom crawler, telescopic boom hydraulic).
  • Proven ability to operate cranes safely and efficiently, demonstrating excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  • Strong understanding of piledriving techniques, equipment, and associated safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, for effective team coordination.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Operate piledriving cranes, such as friction, lattice boom, or hydraulic cranes, to drive piles into the ground according to project plans and specifications.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and signals from riggers and ground personnel.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the project team, including superintendents, foremen, and ground crew.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Inspect work area for hazards and ensure proper setup and stabilization of the crane.
  • Assist with the setup, dismantling, and relocation of crane equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major malfunctions to the maintenance team.
  • Document daily activities, equipment usage, and any incidents or safety concerns.
