About The Position

Operate various types of cranes to hoist and move materials, equipment, or products in a safe and efficient manner on construction sites in Holden, LA. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and precise execution of lifting operations.

Requirements

  • Valid NCCCO certification for the type of crane being operated.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a crane operator, preferably in heavy civil construction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret load charts and operational manuals.
  • Strong understanding of rigging techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with construction work.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy materials and equipment.
  • Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and hand signals to determine load capacities, lifting procedures, and proper placement of materials.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections of cranes, including checking fluid levels, controls, and safety devices, and documenting findings.
  • Maintain clear communication with ground crew, signal persons, and supervisors during lifting operations.
  • Ensure the stability of the crane and the load by verifying proper rigging and load securement.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and local codes regarding crane operation.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and lubrication of crane components as required.
  • Identify and report any malfunctions or defects of the crane to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with other construction tasks on site when not operating the crane, as directed by the supervisor.
