About The Position

Rowan's Piercing Studio Nurse reports to the Studio Manager and provides safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing services. The nurse applies clinical expertise and precision to create a trusted, celebratory experience, helping customers feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit. The role combines clinical care, customer education, personalized styling advice, studio support, inventory and sterilization tasks, operational compliance, and support for studio sales goals. Nurses may also mentor and train new nurses. The position requires a flexible schedule, including availability during peak periods such as holidays and weekends. Rowan welcomes nurses at all experience levels, including newly licensed nurses.

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.
• Professional and engaging customer-care approach; warm, friendly, and collaborative manner.

• Ability to explain technical and non-technical information to customers and community members.
• Interest in working in a retail environment with sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive clinical care and create memorable, celebratory customer experiences during piercing sessions.
• Ensure customer safety and comfort and maintain a smooth flow of care.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers throughout the piercing experience, easing concerns and creating a comforting atmosphere.
• Educate customers about aftercare and Rowan After Care to support healing and well-being.
• Evaluate customers’ ears to determine suitable earring placement and provide personalized styling advice.
• Monitor the customer experience and promptly address issues while maintaining Rowan’s clinical piercing standards.
• Maintain a sterile and aseptic nurse station and procedure tray; clean and sanitize surfaces, instruments, and supplies to prevent contamination.
• Apply knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention when providing piercing services.
• Collaborate with the Studio Manager to support smooth operations and a joyful studio atmosphere, and fill shifts as needed.
• May mentor and train new nurses on Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards, including shadowing services and observing customer interactions.
• Monitor factors that may affect the customer experience, report issues to management, and collaborate on resolutions.
• Keep piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, stocked and ready for customer needs.
• Sterilize jewelry and needle-piercing instruments.
• Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines for sanitary and safe services.
• Support studio metrics including revenue growth, piercing-service efficiency, average order value, and sales.
• Educate customers about Rowan After Care and the benefits of purchasing an extra pair of hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry to promote healing.
• Address and escalate operational concerns promptly, communicating clearly with management and team members to implement solutions.
